Openfield is one of the UK’s largest grain marketing and arable input businesses. The high capacity Seed Processing Plant was designed and constructed on a new concept basis and is now one of the largest and most modern seed plants of its kind in the UK, with one of the most strategic locations for distribution.
This £1.75 million facility has the capacity to process 20,000 tonnes of seed per annum, with peak processing capacity of over 500 tonnes of seed per day, ensuring fast turnaround.
Strategically located next to the A1 in Lincolnshire, this seed plant is within 150-mile delivery radius of 70 per cent of the UK’s total wheat acreage, facilitating low cost distribution to growers in East Anglia, the Midlands and the North.
The processing plant incorporates seed treatment technology which offers the most accurate and effective application of the actual seed coating ensuring enhanced field performance.
With a peak processing capacity of 500 tonnes of seed per day it ensures a fast turnaround especially during the difficult harvest seasons.

Facilitating a design solution with such tremendous potential is always a real pleasure. The Honey Pot Lane Seed Processing Plant enabled T H WHITE Projects to channel our thoughts and expertise into its design and construction which was an exciting venture to undertake and since its commissioning in 2004 we have seen Openfield significantly expand into the UK markets on the back of this investment
